John Clell Hamm, Owner
In the late 90’s Clell witnessed a patient’s joyous reaction when she first tried her new hearing aids. It was that moment that inspired him to transition from a successful career in banking to opening Hamm Hearing Aid Center in 2001.
Clell was born in Durham, NC and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is currently a member of the Board of Governors for the International Hearing Society. Clell was recently awarded the Lovell Advocacy Award by the IHS for his extraordinary achievements in advocating for the hearing impaired. Hamm is a past president and current board member of the North Carolina Association of Hearing Care Professionals and was recognized with the 2013 Award for Outstanding Achievements and Dedication.
Hamm received this award based on his service as a former president of the association, as well as his tireless efforts to promote and pass landmark legislation that ensures options and choices for North Carolina citizens with hearing loss, especially as it relates to their hearing aid provider. Clell continues to work to promote insurance coverage for those with hearing loss at the state and federal level.
